Chapter 11 – The Subconscious Mind. – Napoleon Hill 1862 - 1970
“Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve” is a popular quote first penned by Mr. Hill in” Think and Grow Rich” in 1937 , used again by W Clement Stone in 1962 in his book “The Success System That Never Fails” after some years of collaborating with Napoleon Hill and proven to be correct by almost every Personal Development author since.
Both men were living proof of the fact that by committing to BOTH parts of the quote conceiving AND believing with every thought and action, anyone can ‘programme” their subconscious mind to achieve that, which they most desire. For most of us that desire usually takes the form of seeing ourselves in a position with great wealth or influence.
One of the best recent examples of bringing the power of the subconscious mind into reality was Nelson (Rolihlahla) Mandela who died after seeing and believing with absolute conviction over many years, his dream of the end of apartheid come to fruition, having served as the first black Prime Minister of South Africa as the head of the ANC movement. That dream conceived during his early twenties and was his driving force even during his long term of imprisonment in one of the worst prisons South Africa had to offer.
Despite the conditions around him, within the subconscious part of his mind Mr. Mandela only ever thought in positive terms of the future both himself and his country, even down to the many acts of forgiveness and reconciliation which marked his early days of ANC leader after being released from prison in 1985.
Like many people who grew to affect history, either politically, through achieving great wealth or military achievements, he understood and used the power of the subconscious mind as the go-between translating properly presented and repeated, with absolute belief thought which the Infinite Intelligence can recognize, presents the message to produce a definite plan or idea to achieve the desire.
