                                                                                                                         The Power of the Mastermind

I listened with great interest to what a renowned television and radio presenter had to say about her personal experience of depression and anxiety during her teens. She related how once while travelling by train she could not bring herself to get off at her destination stop. Eventually, with the help of family and friends, she went for counselling. Her counsellor advised her to start her day with positive thoughts, as negative thoughts in the morning are particularly harmful.  Hill says thoughts are things and pretty powerful things at that.

Hill speaking about the “stream of life” says: “Every man who has accumulated a great fortune has recognized the existence of this stream of life. It consists of one’s thinking process. The positive emotions of thought form the side of the stream which carries one to fortune. The negative emotions form the side which carries one down to poverty.” So, a healthy positive outlook on life and confidence in one’s ability to carry out one’s desires are essentials if we want to convert our desires for material wealth into reality. However, wanting money for its own sake is, I believe, fruitless and self-defeating. Accumulating money should be to serve the higher purpose of helping people or mankind and one’s purpose should be written down and fuelled daily by a suitable self-talk. A person also needs a business plan or purpose, such as the one given by Hill in the chapter on autosuggestion under the heading, “Now Your Subconscious Mind Goes to Work”, and this should also be supported by self-talk.

Hill says: “When riches take the place of poverty, the change is usually brought about through well-conceived and carefully executed plans”. To do this, requires great power, which is usually beyond the ability of one man or woman. We need the energy generated by the brain-cell power of a number of minds. Again, Hill says in the chapter on organized planning; “No individual has sufficient experience, education, native ability, and knowledge to insure the accumulation of a great fortune without the co-operation of other people". In addition, when a number of minds are joined together to execute a worthy purpose, they thereby enlist the assistance of God or, as Hill puts it, "Infinite Intelligence".
