Power of the Master Mind
“We all need to become apart of something bigger than ourself.” I heard this quote by Jim Rohn countless times over my time as a network marketer. At first, I didn't know exactly what he meant by that. And then it dawned on me one evening while listening to Jim Rohn’s audio.
In baseball, basketball, football, or any sport (even golf), a good team is built around a mix of players with different strengths that have a common purpose. Since we all know that everybody has different strengths, being teamed up with someone who can do things that we aren't capable of right now, will help us grow. For example, a catcher in baseball might struggle with throwing runners out at second base because he isn't quick enough. Yet, when teamed up with a catcher that is quicker and can throw runners out, and working with each other, all of a sudden, the one catcher becomes quicker and starts throwing runners out.
Just as we are in network marketing, when teamed up with a mentor that has skills that we lack, we will notice our own skills increase. One of the skills that I lacked before was confidence. And we all know that our confidence is congruent to our actions and results. Low confidence in ourselves and abilities will bring low results. Ever since I was intentional on growing my confidence through our master mind group here, my confidence in myself has dramatically increased. I did that through speaking up on the calls more, posting lessons, reading books on confidence, and more importantly, implementing what I've learned into my business. Was it easy? No, but it is well worth it. And the only way I could do it was through my ambition to make it happen, and through our master mind group.
I would like to leave you with a quote that makes so much sense. Jim Rohn uses it in his audio (which comes from the Bible), “When two people agree on a common purpose, nothing is impossible.”
