Hill state in this chapter, every man is what he is because of the dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his or her mind. We can become motivated by the thoughts which we permit to occupy our mind. Good thoughts, good actions, bad thoughts, bad actions. These can be control by our 'self talk'.
Our thoughts are like planning seed in a garden, they will grow and multiply until they become the dominaiting factor of our actions. Good thoughts - good action, negative thoughts - negative actions. If we do not purpously plant good, productive thoughts, our mind tends to migrate toward the negative. We live in a predominantly negative society. Most people are quick to tell you 'why it will not work'.
As Hill points out, every man is what is because of the dominating thoughts which he allow to occupy his mind. Thoughts are things, power things which should be guarded and directed. If we are not accomplishing what we wish to accomplish, we should check our dominating thoughts. In those thoughts we will find the answer, the Faith or the lack there of.
