Think and Grow Rich – Chapter 15                                     Nov. 2, 2022

How to Outwit the Six Ghosts of Fear

Since beginning my study of the book, Think and Grow Rich, is aimed at improving myself and my path through life, I am looking at my own personal progress in developing the attributes listed and avoiding or overcoming the Enemies and Fears.

Napoleon Hill has said, “Nature has endowed man with absolute control over but one thing, and that is THOUGHT”

By listing and explaining our 3 greatest enemies, Indecision, Doubt and Fear and even spelling out the 6 basic fears, Poverty, Criticism, Ill Health, Loss of Love, Old Age and Death, I am  armed with my personal homework to overcome throughout my life.

In studies of this chapter many readings ago, I recognized my major weaknesses were Indecision and Criticism.  Gratefully none of the others frighten me.  So…how is my work progressing?  Am I closer to conquering my enemies?

There is some improvement.  At least now I recognize when I am indecisive.  I look at the tasks at hand on a daily basis and recognize that there is much to do.  I seem to ignore some of the work as it will require me to stop my momentum and make decisions and I tend to put it on the corner of my desk and choose to act upon it “later.”  (OOPS…Trouble here)

When this happens, I NOW recognize that I am acting with Indecision and make that task a priority.  This is a sign of progress.  The recognition whenever I see myself being indecisive is progress.  Then I schedule that project based on other things that I need to do.

As I consider the area of Criticism:  I feel that through the work done in each chapter of this book and associating with the group, I have gained a great deal of confidence and have really improved here.  Also, the habit of staying away from negative people and news has helped a lot.

Another self-work that I do has also strengthened me is my daily scriptual study and prayer .  I no longer feel that I walk alone through my daily tasks, but feel the presence of God’s spirit with me.  My fears have greatly washed away as my faith has been greatly strengthened.  I know that I am not alone and that in every situation, things will be all right in the end.  The fact that I have the courage to mention it shows progress.

Thanks and blessings to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for helping us meet together in wisdom and understanding to accomplish the needs and desires of my life.  Thanks for all of you who also attend this group and share in any way. Many blessings to you!
