Chapter 14 - The Sixth Sense
The dictionary describes the sixth sense as "extrasensory perception".
Alexis Carrel has stated "Intuition comes very close to clairvoyance; it appears
to be the extrasensory perception of reality."
Extrasensory is decribed as "residing beyond or outside the ordinary senses"
and some of the descriptions for perception is "quick, acute, and intuitive cognition
or APPRECIATION and a capacity for comprehension and understanding".
Hill stated "The SIXTH SENSE is that portion of the subconscious mind which
has been referred to as the Creative Imagination. It has also been referred to
as the “receiving set” through which ideas, plans, and thoughts flash into the mind."
I believe all people receive ideas, plans, and thoughts that flash into the mind but
not everyone takes notice or does anything about them. The majority of people
seem to just ignore them.
Being on the Mentoring for Free calls is a great place to see how the sixth sense
or "extrasensory perception" takes place.
One persons makes a comment and someone then receives an idea, a plan a
thought that flashes into their mind and they share, and someone else then
receives another idea, plan or thought and shares with everyone, and on and on it goes;
people are using their "recceiving set" and perception and their capacity for
comprehension and understanding.
This is in a group setting but we also get these ideas and thoughts when we are
on our own and we utilize that "receiving set" and pick up the vibrations from the
thoughts of others.
The big question is what do we do with these ideas, thoughts and plans that we
are receiving. Do we acknowledge them? Do we think they are thoughts that
don't mean anything? Do we recognize them and act upon them?
Gisele Bundchen has said "The more you trust your intuition, the more empowered
you become, the stronger you become, and the happier you become”
It is like anything else we do. The more we practice, the more we take notice.
Florence Scovel Shinn has stated "Intuition is a spiritual faculty and does not explain,
but simply points the way."
