Chapter 3 Faith
Your BELIEF, or FAITH, is the element which determines the action of your subconscious mind. Napoleon Hill
Hill's SELF-CONFIDENCE FORMULA in this chapter has had a great impact on how I think. I've posted this
formula where I can read it everyday and I love the fifth suggestion about not entering any transaction that
doesn't benefit all involved. He writes about eliminating from ourselves; hatred, jealousy, envy, cynicism and
selfishness by developing a love for all humanity.
We are what we are, because of the vibrations of thought which we pick up and register, through the stimuli
of our daily environment. Napoleon Hill
Here is another place I found I had to stop to mentally prepare myself before moving forward. Knowing that
Auto suggestion works by repetition and belief, we must get rid of all the unwanted suggestions we receive
daily, criticisms, unkind words, sarcasms, any rude remarks or new resentments need to be ventilated and
tossed out. We need not take any negatives from the day to bed with us because they will get picked up by
our subconscious minds.
I'm reading the book "Enthusiasm makes the difference" by Norman Vincent Peale. Daily mental ventilation
is a practice that was suggested to Peale by Mr. Ross a friend and church member who operated a pharmacy.
Mr. Ross called it clumping and dumping. After continued application of determined and disciplined mental
effort one can develop the ability to shut out and forget unhealthy and useless material that clutters the mind.
Faith in God I have, and it keeps me centered and calm. Faith does not allow any room for constant worry or
fear. Faith keeps the blood pressure down. When I get anxious, I remind myself that I'm not in control and I
suggest to myself, I believe in my faith.
Thanks to Michael and Linda Dlouhy for mentoring for free, and to Nathan, my dad, George, Marty, Tulla, Kay
and Taquittee and everyone for sharing your wisdom each week on these calls.
