Chapter 10 The power of the Mastermind

Hill refers to the Mastermind group in earlier chapters, and reminds us throughout the book that our compliance to this instruction is absolutely essential. Once we have our plan in place this group will keep us on track and in check as long as it is in perfect harmony.

A Mastermind is a group of like-minded men and women that are not in competition. There is a sincere desire to help one another, to listen, to advise and be heard and to build each other up. A Mastermind group is a safe place where problem solving and the exchange of new ideas and new networks can benefit anyone that participates. It is a group that gives and takes.

If any member is not 100% all in…. they should kindly step out to avoid erosion to the entire group.

Men  take on the nature and the habits of thought of those with whom they associate in the spirit of symphony and harmony. Napoleon Hill

Hill uses the example of electric batteries to our brains because everybody's brain has a different capacity of learning capabilities and a different number of brain cells available the same as a battery. I like to think of the collective as horsepower, one horse with one rider has great individual power but 10 horses with 10 riders in confidence and Harmony with one another is a very powerful army.

I haven't always chosen the best people for my Mastermind group. I've become very aware and mindful of who I associate with, and who I invest my time in. I'm quicker to recognize disguised sarcasm that is really criticism to intentionally tear one down and cause self doubt.

We must take the time and choose our Mastermind wisely. If not we will take on the likeness of the five people we spend most of our time with.

Thank you Michael Dlouhy for creating this master-mind group and thank you George Freelen for getting me here. My life, my thinking, my perceptions are continuing to improve daily.
