Hill tells us that “The imagination is literally the workshop wherein are fashioned all plans created by man. The impulse, the DESIRE, is given shape, form, and ACTION through the aid of the imaginative faculty of the mind.” If I go to the gym on a regular basis which I do, then going in for a workout is a routine thing, I have conditioned myself or disciplined myself to do the workout. But If I get lazy on that discipline and start slacking then all the work that I have done disappears rapidly. In other words, it’s a lot easier to lose it than it is to cultivate it. And it’s the same with imagination.
When you are a small child there are no limits or boundaries to what you are capable of doing in your mind. Your mind is an open receptacle that starts to be programmed by many sources, and a lot of them don’t have your best interests. In fact many don’t want you to dream.or succeed… They offer programming like that’s stupid, you will never have that, who do you think you are…and on and on. People who do those kind of things are born with it or just plain lucky. I’m sure we are all familiar with that. If we have not made a firm decision to block all that negative crap out which most of us don’t, then our imaginations atrophy just like muscles that have taken a vacation from the gym do.
Hill also said “It has been said that man can create anything which he can imagine.” Proctor said it this way, “if you can see it in your mind then you can hold it in your hand.” And about money Hill says that we will never see it in our bank accounts until we can see it in our imaginations.
Sandy Gallagher says that “our mind’s magic is manifested in and expressed through six distinct gifts, one of those gifts being imagination”. She also says “to maximize the creative power of your intuition, your will, your memory, you reason and perception, you have to first understand and maximize the power of your imagination. That imagination is the key that unlocks all the other gifts.” That it opens doors to worlds that don’t even exist yet and the possibilities that the imagination can connect you to are infinite. Bob Proctor says that we have an imagination that will take you to places where no one has ever been. I think that all we have to do it nurse that weak imagination back to a healthy state again and we are off to the races.
Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for imagining a system that could help all that are open and coachable to taking advantage of it and thanks to my friends and mastermind partners for all you bring to the calls.
