CHAPTER 9 Persistence: The Sustained
Effort Necessary to Induce Faith

The lack of persistence is one of the major causes of failure.
“Moreover, experience with thousands of people has proved that
lack of persistence is a weakness common to ‘the majority’ of
men. (But) It is a weakness that may be overcome by effort.
The ease with which lack of persistence may be conquered will
depend entirely upon the Intensity of one’s Desire.”  Napoleon Hill

“Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from
failure, loyalty, and persistence.” Colin Powell

Listen to a story of 2 different kinds of farmers. Each had chosen a
crop to plant. They have the same acreage, an understanding of their
chosen product, and well-laid plans for the care and maintenance of
their crops. Both prepared their fields, feed the necessary nutriment,
used a state of art irrigation systems. The difference was in the crop
sow and the number of harvests. You see first farmer plant alfalfa for
the making of hay which can be harvested every 35 days about 4 times a
season and with persistence, care can do so for many seasons. The other
planted pine trees which with patience will be harvested 25 years
from now. As Hal Borland said, “Knowing trees, I understand the meaning
of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.”

There are a place and time in our network marketer to plant trees and grass.

Like the alfalfa farmer, I must be persistent the finding the best seeds,
deas and hunches), maintaining a balance of nutriment, (personal development
and positive emotions), preparing for the harvest (new customers and partners)
as often as time give me. I need to be a pine tree farmer remember that
persistence call for the patience that stays the course with a plan to be here a
year, 5-years, 10-years, and a faith that says I will succeed.

“The key of persistence opens all doors closed by resistance.” John Di Lemme

“If you find you are weak in persistence, center your attention upon the
instructions contained in the chapter on “Power”; surround yourself with a
mastermind” group, and through the cooperative efforts of the members of
this group, you can develop persistence.” Napoleon Hill

This what I have found with Mentoring for Free, a mastermind of those who
manifest and encourage a persistent spirit. With the insight of each lesson
written, each comment shared, every question asked, or a story told I know
‚Äčthe harvest is will come.
