Colonel George Robert Hall an Air Force Officer and Pilot who’s plane was shot down over North Vietnam. He was captured and was a P.O.W. of Hanoi Hilton for several years. The cells were tiny and the prisoners had little interaction with other prisoners and essentially none outside. Most of the time was spent in their tiny cell. What got most prisoners through their time was a positive outlook of their life before capture and after their release. Colonel Hall was captain of the Golf Team at the Naval Academy and was close to a scratch golfer. He thought about his golf game from the shot on the first tee down the fairway, to the green and putting in the hole. He spent the day dreaming of his golf game. This went on for years.
Hall and almost six hundred other P.O.Ws were released from Hanoi in nineteen hundred and seventy three.
Hall was invited to play in the Greater New Orleans Pro Am Open approximately six weeks after his release. Hall shot four over par, which was his golf handicap prior to his tour beginning in Vietnam. Hall had not played golf for almost a decade, but that did not matter. He was successful because he saw himself playing golf at a high level. In other words Hall used his imagination!
You will probably not be successful at anything that is life changing, such as a higher income if you do not see yourself there. Blood, Sweat, Elbow Grease, and time are part of it, but you need to imagine yourself in the home, dream car, African Safari, or whatever you want that appears out of reach at this point in your life. You have to have an imagination.
Imagination comes in two forms. These are synthetic and creative.
Synthetic Imagination is essentially using existing concepts, ideas, factors and putting this in new combinations. This is used most by inventors. For example Edison did this about ten thousand times before the light bulb became a reality.
Creative Imagination is where one’s finite mind has direct communication with Infinite Intelligence. This is where hunches and inspirations come from. This is where new ideas come from. Through this thoughts and vibrations from the minds of others are received. This is where one can communicate with the subconscious mind of others.
Was not there in the Cell with Colonel Hall. I, however, would say he used his synthetic imagination quite a bit based on his acquired golf skills and experiences. I, as well see some Creative Imagination he used while playing championship Golf Courses.
All world changing business ideas from manufacturing concepts to technologies started in someone’s mind. In other words this came from their creative Imagination.
One was “The Enchanted Kettle” which Hill covers. The Old Country Doctor was happy to sell his old-fashioned Kettle and formula to the pharmacy clerk for five hundred dollars. The Doctor was happy, this paid of his debts so he had a piece of mind. The Clerk was taking a huge risk by investing his entire savings on this sugar and water formula. This formula turned into an infinite goldmine. Coca Cola was born. Today Coca Cola is a multi national company with Annual Revenues of approximately thirty seven billion. Along with having a Coke and a smile, this company has created employment opportunities around the world. One person was Colonel George Robert Hall who was a pilot at Coca Cola after his tenure in the Air Force.
Another world changing example that began with an imagination.
As said before, millions of people have signed up for network marketing at least once, many have signed up multiple times. Very few, however, ever reached the high pin levels, and in turn, create a large residual income, where you will continue to get paid regardless if you are working or not. It’s possible for all of us, but few will complete the mission.
A desire to work hard, help others, and willing to be uncomfortable and inconvenienced at times. As Michael stresses, we need to find a five-pillar company along with plugging into a personal development program. These are all necessary. All folks who take the network-marketing journey will have the tough days, weeks, months and even a bad year. The ordinary Dick and Jane’s will decide the journey is not worth the lack of comfort and adversity and stop. Some will stick around as card-carrying members, and many will eventually quit. One of the reasons is they did not see themselves as the pin winner walking across the stage in front of their company peers. You have to imagine this happening.
I am just as guilty as many. In my past life in network marketing, I never saw myself crossing the stage and speaking to the audience, leading a group, or writing a big check with no worries. It has taken me a while, but I am finally imagining this happening.
If you cannot dream it, you cannot do it!
As mentioned, Personal Development is important, plus association with Positive People. Mentoring for Free is the place to be. Thank you Michael And Linda Dloughy for this program. Thank you Rick Burnett for reaching out to me. Thank you to everyone who participates on these calls.
