First is the power of thought. If you can’t think it you
cannot do it. As we warm up the engine on a cold
Winter morning in Minnesota before moving, we must
warm up the mind with positive thoughts before me
move forward. We move forward because we have
Anybody can wish for something. I wish I had a nicer car, a bigger house, no debt, able to fish everyday, etc. The only difference between buying a lottery ticket and wishing for vast wealth is the lottery ticket cost a few dollars.
To move toward your goal you have to think it, believe you and can do it, and be willing to do what it takes. Were not talking just about money it takes desire to do almost anything that is challenging.
A couple of years ago I fell of my bike in a triathlon and broke my hand and needed surgery. I remember sitting in the Minneapolis VA Orthopedic waiting room in the early morning. There was a large gentlemen sitting across from us whom we started chatting with. What branch were you in, what was your military occupation, what was your civilian career?
Learned that he had been a professional wrestler. His name was Gary Lindgren who went by the ring name as the Blaster.
I asked him how he got into the business? He grew up playing football and basketball. He loved sports and had an interest in wrestling. He decided to go to Verne Gagne’s wrestling school. He and one other person made it through the school out of approximately forty individuals. He said it was probably the toughest physical challenge he ever had taken on. There were several folks who were more talented than he was. What got him through is he had a desire. Regardless of what folks think or say about professional wrestling it is not easy at all and can be a very tough life.
To my knowledge it takes the same kind of mindset to make it through Special Forces or Seal School in the Military. You will get pushed and challenge and feel no comfort during your waking hours. You will not make it unless you have the desire.
Can apply this to business. Edwin Barnes was nothing special on the outside. He, however, had a burning desire in his heart that he was going to work for Edison.
Barnes did go into business with Edison. He, however, went through the tough times and did whatever it took to succeed. Most would have quit and moved on within a year, but not Barnes. He had a burning Desire that kept him going.
This is no different in Network Marketing. Millions have signed up with a company, some many companies, but few make it big.
The few are in most cases are no more talented and have any special advantages. They all got plenty of no’s and their fair share of bozos. The burning desire is what kept them going.
We all need positive people in our life to keep our desire alive. Our companies have recommended books and other training materials. Everybody here is blessed to have Mentoring For Free. We may be in different companies, but are here to support each other.
Thank you Michael And Linda Dloughy for putting together this program. Thank you Rick Burnett for contacting me. Thank you to everyone who participates on these weekly calls.
Psalm Thirty-Seven verse number four.
“Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
