The mind never stops, it runs twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and three hundred sixty five days a year. We cannot control this, but we do have some control on what goes into our mind. We can send any plan, desire or purpose we wish to turn into a tangible form.
One must have a desire and plan on what they wish to accomplish and how they will accomplish it. As covered back in Chapter three you got to have faith that this will happen.
One must talk positive and think positive that their desires will come to reality. Along with studying Napoleon Hill I have been studying “Beyond Grit” written by Dr. Cindra Kamphoff. Dr. Kamphoff uses the A.N.T. acronym quite a bit. A.N.T. stands for Automatic Negative Thoughts. Automatic Negative Thoughts will keep one from reaching their potential.
We must control the amount of A.N.T.S that enter our subconscious mind. Otherwise we will more often than not have less than desirable results. Dr. Kamphoff has worked with the Target Corporation, North Western Mutual and the Minnesota Vikings. The most notable example is her work with NFL wide receiver Adam Thielen.
Adam grew up in Detroit Lakes, a resort town in North West Minnesota. He was a good football player, but did not stand out enough to be recruited by Division one Schools. He went on to play at Minnesota State Mankato, which is a respectable Division Two Program. After College, he became a walk on free agent with the Minnesota Vikings. He made the practice squad, which is impressive. He eventually work into the active Roster. He eventually started. Now Thielen is the number one receiver on the team and one of their highest paid players.
The fact that he made the practice squad is admirable enough. What he has done is more than noticeable. Many will ask how he became successful. He had some ability, and worked his tail off. Most of all Adam had faith and belief in himself. He did not let the Automatic Negative Thoughts take control. In turn this transferred from the subconscious mind to the field. Now like many I currently do not have the most positive view of the National Football League and other professional sports. I, however, will support individuals like Adam Thielen. They are an inspiration to us all.
We as Network Marketers need to control our ANTS. We will have challenges, naysayers, and most likely have some arm chair quarterbacks who will tell us that what were doing is foolish, a scam, and a waste of time. The problem is not what they say, is how we deal with it. We cannot let the doubt and negative thoughts creep in to our subconscious and take over. If we do, we will never reach our potential.
We all need to feed our minds with positive material. That includes reading and listening to things that are uplifting not depressing. Watching or listening to as little news as possible is a wise choice. Heard Les Brown say recently, “Do not watch the news. If there is a major crisis or catastrophe, somebody probably will tell you about it.” Debbie Downer may ruin their day, just do not let it ruin yours.
I am so thankful for Mentoring for Free. As said before, some of us are in different companies, but we are all on the same road. Thank you Michael and Linda Dlouhy for this wonderful program. Thank you Rick for reaching out to me. Thank you to everybody who participates on these weekly calls.
