Think & Grow Rich Lessons

One can want and wish money and financial independence all they want.  This won’t happen unless they win the lottery or inherit a fortune.   Just wanting and hoping will not get it done.

Starting with little or nothing and becoming wealthy requires desire and determination. You will do whatever it takes to succeed and not stop until the mission is accomplished.  One must make the plan that this will happen and begin the mission.

Here is tonight’s Sport Analogy.  I am a Triathlete with the long-term goal of becoming an Ironman.  I have had a desire to do this for the last ten years.   This requires a lot of planning, strategy, steps, and most of all training.  Have not done it as quick as I wanted, but am making way to the endgame.  I am consistently running the longer courses, running half marathons, and completed my first Marathon.  Do not live to run, but this is the final leg of an Ironman.  I have had set backs due to family matters, time for training, and injuries.  I broke my hand when I fell of my bike in a race a few years ago.  I knew my season was probably over so I got back on the bike and painfully finished the event.  That was the end of my season and I went through months of using my left hand for the simplest of tasks.  Some suggested I stop chasing the goal, but I never stopped.

I was back training by the next spring and had a successful Endurance Sports Season.  I am scheduled to complete my first Half Ironman Race at the end of the summer and complete a full Course by the end of the following year.  This may not happen right on plan due to the Corona Virus, but adjustments will be made and the mission will be accomplished.

The world of business is no different. Every self made individual in the past, present, and future crosses the line because of desire.   Edwin Barnes appeared as an ordinary man with little money and not much to offer to the world.   He, however, had the desire, which got him to Edison’s place of business.  Then he obtained employment where he put his nose to the grindstone and nothing stopped him for five years where he did go into business with Edison.  Barnes was one of the many who made it.

A more modern Day was the late Steve Jobs.  He and his partners had the desire to get a personal computer in as many homes as possible.  The naysayers rejected him, banks would not talk to him, and they were working out of his parent’s garage.  Then a wealthy retiree from Intel Mike Markkula saw the vision that Jobs had and invested a quarter of a million dollars in nineteen hundred and seventy seven.   From then on Apple was of to the races.  Besides the personal computer they have revolutionized the music and personal communication device industry with the I Phones.   This all happened from desire.

This is a tough time on conventional business due to the uncertainty and danger on the Corona Virus, but we will come out of this as a society and some things will never be the same. As Michael Dloughy said billion dollar business ideas will come from this.   These individuals will have vision, but they will need desire.

As conventional business, things are no different in the network-marketing arena.  Millions of people have been in Network Marketing at least once, many multiple times. They start out excited, but most quit at the first sign of trouble.  Folks reject the idea, their family and friends criticizes them and they are out.   The few that make it go through the same type of scenarios the rest of the quitters do.  Why, because they had the desire!

We all go through humps and have our bad days. The world can be a cruel place at times due to things out of our control.  We need to feed our minds with positive material and associate with positive people who will support us.  Mentoring for Free where we come for the support.  Thank you Michael And Linda Dlouhy for this program. Thank you Rick Burnett for reaching out to me.  Thank you to everyone who participates on these weekly calls.

Psalm thirty-seven verse number four.    Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
