WHEN Edwin C. Barnes climbed down from the freight train in Orange, N. J.
he may have resembled a tramp, but his thoughts were those of a king!

Making his way from the railroad tracks to Thomas A. Edison’s office,
his mind was going at top speed. He was seeing himself standing in
before Edison and hearing himself asking him for an opportunity to
fulfill the one consuming obsession of his life, the burning desire
of becoming a business associate of the great inventor.

“Barnes’ desire was not a hope! It was not a wish! It was a keen,
pulsating DESIRE, which transcended everything else. It was definite.”
Napoleon Hill

All great achievement started as a dream which manifests as a burning

Bill Gates had a burning desire to create a computer language that
anyone could use. Fred Smith had a dream to have an air to ground
delivery service which had overnight service. Malcolm Mclean, just
a truck driver in the early 1950’s, saw the need to move cargo from
trucks to ships fast. The world’s economy has been built from the
dream of container shipping used today.

Most people approach network marketing as just hope or a wish. “I
hope I can make some money?” “I sure wish someone would join my
business?” “I just hope my family and friends will encourage and
support me?” “It sure would be nice to have an income from home in
days like we are having now?”

Dreams have very little value when there is not a burning desire.
Why do I say that? If we have a burning desire, we will disembark
from a boxcar at the station of It’s my business, roll up our
sleeves and with an all-in commitment letting nothing hold us back.

“The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we
desire not things we fear.” Brain Tracy

The good news we are not alone on the road call success. Napoleon
Hill outlines the steps necessary to kindle and stoke our burning
He calls for us to follow just 6 simple steps:

  1.  Fix in your mind the exact amount of money or achievement you

  2.  Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for that
    which you desire

  3. Set a definite date when you intend to possess your burning

  4. Create a definite plan for fulfilling your desire, and ready
or not start putting this plan into action.

  5. Write out a clear, concise statement of that plan with all
    the action steps.

  6. Read your written statement aloud at least twice daily. Put
to memory and plant it deep into your subconscious mind.

Success is a choice that must make daily. A call to action and
fanning of the flames of desire.

Thanks to Linda and Michael for living your desire out loud as
bellows to stir my desires. My gratitude to everyone who
participates in the weekly call and sharing your burning desires.
I cannot thank enough everyone who chose to accept my invitation
to join me on this journey.
