Think & Grow Rich – Chapter 1

Thoughts are things

It is fascinating to begin reading Think & Grow Rich again and again.  Knowing that “thoughts are things” and considering the state we are in throughout the world at this time.  I’ve felt a real need to master my thoughts.

The story of Edwin C Barnes is truly inspiring.  Starting with literally nothing but a thought and desire to partner with Mr. Edison, he was not certain how or when his path would evolve into a partnership.  When he finally met Edison after his trip on a freight train, he looked like an “ordinary tramp”.  The only thing that made Edison hire his was his determination.  “It was what Barnes thought that counted.

So…what am I thinking now?  Our situation is a tiny bit like that of Barnes, coming out of the depression.  Many people are out of work.  Neither my husband nor I can meet with our clients until the quarantine is lifted.  If that is not happening to you, it may be happening to your neighbors.

For us, it is a perfect time to expand our networking business.  It has been slow in growing, though it is growing.  Should look for a company that promises to build faster?  No, I don’t think so.  What we need is the resolve that Barnes had and dig deeper, fully expecting the desired success as Barnes did.

This lesson came at a perfect time as I know I am where I want to be and I’m strengthening the vision to meet our financial needs and help others out of debt while helping many with products that will enrich their lives.  Hill said …something important was happening in Barnes’ mind.  He was constantly intensifying his DESIRE to become the business associate of Edison.”  This is all about our thoughts.  Self-talk is critical now, perhaps than never before..

Now when any negative thought comes, I have a radar that pushes me out of them.  I will not get the virus.  (Whether or not I cough or sneeze.)  I will have all that I need financially.  (Whether or not it is hard to meet financial obligations.)  This all will pass.

Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for this terrific Master Mind group.  The thoughts of each of you here support us all.  Blessings to you all.
