The Sustained Effort Necessary to Induce Faith

                 The 8th Step Toward Riches

Hill stated that the lack of Persistence is one of the major causes of Failure. With Persistence, Success will come.

Persistence is based upon definite causes such as:

  1. Definiteness of Purpose- Knowing what one wants is the first and most important step in the development of Persistence.

  2. Desire- It is easy to acquire and to maintain persistence in pursuing the object of intense desire.

  3. Self Reliance- Belief in one’s ability to carry out a plan encourages one to follow through with persistence. Self Reliance can be developed through the principle described in the chapter on Auto Suggestion.

  4. Definiteness of Plans- Organized plans, even though they may be weak & entirely impractical, encourage persistence.

  5. Accurate Knowledge- Knowing that one’s plans are sound, based upon experience or observation, encourages persistence; “guessing instead of “knowing” destroys persistence.

  6. Co-operation- Sympathy, understanding and harmonious cooperation with others tend to develop persistence.

  7. Will-Power- The habit of concentrating one’s thoughts upon the building of plans for the attainment of a definite purpose, leads to persistence.

  8. Habit- Persistence is the direct result of habit.

The Fear of Criticism is one of the symptoms leading to a Lack of Persistence. Failure to create plans and to put them into action, because of what people will think, do or say. I know what my plans are and I’m better off not discussing them with family members and so called friends. It’s so true that “Misery loves Company.” Sometimes, it is hard to avoid negative people. They don’t know they are being negative. All their lives, they have been this way and it’s so sad.

Besides attending church, it’s important that I have a social life. Life is too short to not want to get out and enjoy it. I rarely watch TV because of all the negativity. So yes, Self Talk is very much needed in my life to drown out negative situations and negative people.

Also, being here and participating with this platform is like a ray of sunshine. Nothing but Positive Vibes. It’s similar and almost the same feeling I get after church service. I feel great and exhilarated.

I will never give up on my dreams. For now, I’m working part time on my business and plan to return to work full time.

Blessed to be here,
