Persistence- the quality that allows someone to continue doing something or trying to do something even though it is difficult or opposed by other people,
As I reflect back on what persistence look and feel like to me, 12 years ago. I encounter a life changing traumatic experience. I had been knocked down again. The inability to walk, sit up straight and being confined to a bed for 2 months as my body healed, was mental torture. It must have been persistence that laid hold of my spirit as I determined in my mind t that I was going to get everything back like it was before. Only to wrestle with thoughts of indecision, procrastination, fear and defeat. During this process I was told many times if my mobility didnt come back within 6 months, my window of opportunity to be whole would be closed. The count down began, 1 month ,2 months,3 months 6 months later and my left hand still weak and fragile. I didnt make the cut to be whole in the professionals time frame. I could have given up then. But persistence had laid hold of my mind and spirit man. I sit up straight no cane no Walker I can move my toes and fingers a little. Fast forward 12 years later. People tell me, I dont look like I had a massive stroke, I tell you the truth, persistently going to the gym 3 times per week stretching and wearing hand splints took courage mental toughness and determination to make it this far.i laugh at thatvwindowvof opportunity they gave me, I have you to know persistence is the exact seed that should be planted in the spirit of every man woman and child. Once a mind is made up. The universe must yeild the fruit of a persistent act. Like the woman who went to the judge in Luke 18:1-18 let's look at verse 1 in the NKJV, Then he spoke a parable to them, that man ought to pray and not lose heart. Bingo, as we sum up persistence, prayer could be faith stored up in the heart giving birth to actions that will in turn produce persistency to will yield the reward of your definite desire.
