My sister is 11 months older than I, so she started school an entire year before I did. That was agony for me because my strongest desire was to be in school. So, for that first year, I stood at my window watching as all the children passed my home on their way to school AND parked myself there again as they were returning home after school.
The next year it was finally my turn and, Oh Boy! I was in Hog Heaven. During second grade we had a massive snow storm (Cleveland, Ohio) and my mom informed us that we were not going to school that day. Well, that was not what I wanted to hear, so I cried, begged and pleaded with her to allow me to go. She finally relented, and there were only six of us in Sterling Elementary School that day including the teachers.
When I learned to read it was Hog Heaven all over again. My head was always in a book. I would voraciously read anything and everything no matter where I was; while eating at the table with everyone else, in bed, on the bus, everywhere. In addition to others, two of my favorite books to read were the dictionary and encyclopedia. I know, Weird!!! Well my mom honestly thought I would go crazy because of all that reading and forced me to stop reading anything that was not related to school work for an entire year. Mind you I was still in elementary school. So, I sneaked and read my dad’s men’s magazines. Now I must say back then, they were not as they are now. In those days, the pictures were mostly of vehicles with a fully-clothed, beautiful model on top of or standing by the vehicle. But there were stories in the magazine which were pretty interesting with information on lots of different topics. So, after that one-year sentence ended, I was allowed to read again.
As I grew older it happened that I could intelligently have a conversation with anyone on any subject. I would often wonder how it was that I was familiar with the information, but I assumed that I must have picked it up from all that reading when I was younger. I was also a very quiet child, so I might have gained some of that knowledge by listening to others talking as well.
I’ve given all of this background just to say that I had garnered an enormous amount of general knowledge which, as Hill puts it, is only “potential power”. He also says, “KNOWLEDGE will not attract money, unless it is organized, and intelligently directed, through practical PLANS OF ACTION, to the DEFINITE END of accumulation of money.”
I began to realize that, as Hill puts it, “HOW TO ORGANIZE AND USE the KNOWLEDGE” I have acquired in regard to my MLM IS MY MISSING LINK! So, I am here to learn in this Mastermind Group and I appreciate and thank each of you for providing a safe, informative, and fun place to do it.
