An interesting thought shift came into my mind this morning and as I pondered my activities before beginning my day.  It began by reading a quote from a religious leader of years ago, named Lorenzo Snow.  He made a simple comment about Jesus that flashed light onto my perspective of my physical and spiritual realities.  He said “The Saviour must have been an honorable and honest carpenter, or he never could have merited the position he afterwards occupied.”

As a follower of Jesus, I have always had great faith in the reality of personal guidance and direction in my life.  In fact, I am deeply emotional about it.  However, though I have tried to be like Jesus in all my dealings, I had separated my spiritual activities from my earthly work which provides income.  I had never had the desires physically or the drive that I had in spiritual work.  However, I do know it is necessary to provide for ourselves the necessities of life in order to have the opportunity to do the charitable things here on the earth.  With that said, even though I have tried to be honorable and honest in all my dealings, the fire has not be there to earn money.  This is an issue I have seen in the lives of many spiritual, financially unproductive individuals.

This simple statement contemplating Jesus as an honest and honorable carpenter, earning income as part of his mission, before his life turned to his greater work on earth, has created an awakening in my mind through the emotions of Faith, Love and Sex.  Faith and Love being spiritual and Sex in the form of a drive and desire to be financially productive.  A fusion occurred and the emotions and desires I previously have had for spiritual activities have been grounded to function in the physical.   A burning desire to create income exploded in my consciousness, income which will free my time for the pursuit of my spiritual goals.

What had occurred truly became clear as I read Hill’s statement, “The mixing, or blending, of these three emotions, [Faith, Love and Sex], has the effect of opening a direct line of communication between the finite, thinking mind of man, and infinite intelligence.”  I felt enlightened, empowered, and energized in my perspective, seeing my two lives, spiritual and physical, as one.

Thank you Michael and Linda for providing this opportunity for us to open our minds to our possibilities by creating this mastermind group.
