Chapter 14 - The Sixth Sense
Hill describes to us how he wanted to reshape his character by
trying to imitate the nine men whose lives had been most
impressive to him by holding imaginary Council meetings with
what he called his "Invisible Counselors."
Hill tells us "These meetings became so realistic that I became
fearful of their consequences, and discontinued them for several months.
The experiences were so uncanny, I was afraid if I continued them I would
lose sight of the fact that the meetings were purely experiences of my imagination.
The SIXTH SENSE is that portion of the subconscious mind which
has been referred to as the Creative Imagination."
This could also be referred to as creative self talk.
Hill was telling himself at all these meetings what his character
needed to be and he was living through them. He was visualizing
what he wanted to become and it became so real he was fearful of
We can use this same technique in building our business. We can
visualize through our sixth sense that portion of our creative imagination
to see us living the life we desire and use our self talk as part of
our "Invisible Counselors".
If Hill could see it so clearly he became fearful of the reality it was for him,
we should be able to also see so clearly our success in our business.
As Michael Dlouhy tells us to ask ourselves "If we knew we could not
fail, how differently would we live our life."
We should be able to see it so clearly that we live and act now
as if it were already a reality.
