POWER may be defined as “organized and intelligently directed KNOWLEDGE.” Power, as the term is here used, refers to ORGANIZED effort, sufficient to enable an individual to transmute DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. ORGANIZED effort is produced through the coordination of effort of two or more people, who work toward a DEFINITE end, in a spirit of harmony.
The “Master Mind” may be defined as: “Coordination of knowledge and effort, in a spirit of harmony, between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose.”
No individual may have great power without availing himself of the “Master Mind.” In a preceding chapter, instructions were given for the creation of PLANS for the purpose of translating DESIRE into its monetary equivalent. If you carry out these instructions with PERSISTENCE and intelligence, and use discrimination in the selection of your “Master Mind” group, your objective will have been half- way reached, even before you begin to recognize it.
It always puzzles me when someone attempts a new business venture and don’t consult with a mastermind. One of the 30 major causes of failure is Insufficient education. When it comes to your career, specialized knowledge is a must, and it can only be learnt through experience on the job, and studying outside of working hours. A good mastermind will share experience and ideas, which will most likely be the difference between success and failure.
A guy that I went to high school with recently opened a BBQ restaurant. He’s not a business man and lacks a business mindset. I’ve suggested a few ideas to him but there’s always something wrong with my ideas…Over the past few weeks I’ve passed by 3 or 4 times and I’ve only seen one car there total!!! A mastermind would have a few different outlooks on the business and a successful plan could be created. This guy is stubborn and bull headed…you just can’t tell him anything!!! I’ve learned that you can’t help everybody and most of all you can’t fix STUPID!!!
This guy will fail miserably and lose a lot of money and time due to his mentality. A few things that I’ve noticed about this failure waiting to happen…terrible location, no parking, high prices, mediocre food, and very limited hours of operation.
I remember saying to my mentor, “If I had more money, I would have a better plan.” He quickly responded, “I would suggest that if you had a better plan, you would have more money.” You see, it’s not the amount that counts; it’s the plan that counts. – Jim Rohn
Thank you Linda and Michael Dlouhy for teaching me the power of the mastermind and teaching me to be a critical thinker. Thank you to all of my friends here at MFF it’s a pleasure interacting with brilliant minds.
