Chapter 5 - Specialized knowledge
Hill writes "First of all, decide the sort of specialized knowledge you require,
and the purpose for which it is needed. To a large extent your major
purpose in life, the goal toward which you are working, will help
determine what knowledge you need.
Your next move requires that you have accurate information concerning
dependable sources of knowledge."
Accurate information! -- Where have we heard that before?
We have heard Michael Dlouhy say on every coaching call when it comes
to anyone not having success in Network Marketing; It is not your fault.
How can it be your fault if you have not had accurate truthful information
about this industry.
We have all been there, looking for the help we know we need. There are
all kinds of mentoring, training and coaching programs out there and
usually it depends on how much money you want to spend.
My experience with this was a guy who charged $250. for half an hour with
the first half hour being free. OK, so I took him up on the half hour
for free to see what his training was.
He told me to go and talk to everyone I come in contact with and then
report a week later and then we would go to the next step.
My thought was, "I was taught 15 years ago to "talk to everyone, if they
are breathing they are a prospect, the three foot rule, get 100 no's,
etc. etc." and I was to pay $250 for a half hour training each time for
stuff that was old teaching. No thank you. I will find something better."
George Bernard Shaw wrote "Beware of false knowledge; it is more
dangerous than ignorance."
As Hill had written "Your next move requires that you have accurate
information concerning dependable sources of knowledge.
We at Mentoring for Free have all found that "accurate truthful knowledge"
and it is not $250 for each half hour and now our success will depend on
what we do with it.
Thomas Aquinas wrote "We can't have full knowledge all at once.
We must start by believing; then afterwards we may be led on to
master the evidence for ourselves."
In other words, we may have found Mentoring for Free but if we don't
take advantage of it by participating, posting lessons and being here
long enough to realize what we really have, we will never master the
growth that is available for all.
Confucius said "When you know a thing, to hold that you know it, and when you do not
know a thing, to allow that you do not know it - this is knowledge. Confucius
Be here a year from now and you may just come to know what you do not
know now.
