Chapter 13.  THE BRAIN: A BROADCASTING AND RECEIVING STATION FOR THOUGHT

The Twelfth Step toward Riches

"Vibrations" thought/emotions passes via framework of the brain (somehow - vibrations via ether!?)  In this millennium modern psychology might have a better description, but I'm not a psychologist, so I would hold the fact that whatever he is describing, is real and it doesn't matter how well I understand the mechanism.  Just like you don't have to have mastered thermodynamics to drive a car. The engine runs, most of the time. When it doesn't I'll take it to the car doctor to get it fixed, but I don't have to understand how that engine works to drive the car.

We'll assume these thoughts can be transferred, but Hill does not convince me about the method of "vibrations". I assume he has experienced something like this, but not necessarily as described.  I can't describe it either.

The topics of broadcasting (stations) from subconscious mind.  Auto suggestions.  Strange concepts to me.

We have limited ourselves to physical senses.  I have participated in many religious discussions on Facebook about God and the spiritual world.  My argument to most of those spouting with such certainty about Atheism, is that they are not looking at all of the evidence.  There is more to proofs than the 5 senses.  How do you prove love for your spouse, enough to decide on marriage?  Probably not measured by scientific facts.

So the "sixth sense", as Hill calls it, is hard to define, but that does not make it less real.

In other words, I don't buy Hill's analysis of how thoughts are communicated (mind vibrations, ether, etc.), but I can't explain it either.  But he is describing something that is real to him, a non-physical "sixth sense".  I can hold his weird description as someone else’s concept, and still use it, based on his testimony.  Even my yoga instructor says crazy things like "breathe into it".  That makes no sense to me, but I'm sure she is trying to express some truth about breathing and exercising.  I do it even if her description doesn't make sense to me in my more literal, engineering mindset.

Amplify them with radio tubes – I think he means “transistors”.

Telepathy and clairvoyance – here is what we do:

"The procedure is very simple. We sit down at a conference table, clearly state the nature of the problem we have under consideration, then begin discussing it. Each contributes whatever thoughts that may occur. The strange thing about this method of mind stimulation is that it places each participant in communication with unknown sources of knowledge definitely outside his own experience" – (Mastermind or Brainstorming, sharing ideas without evaluating them.)  … "If you understand the principle described in the chapter on the Master Mind, you of course recognize the round-table procedure here described as being a practical application of the Master Mind."

He offers some good advice, I think:   "If it means nothing to you at this time, mark this page and read it again after you have finished the last chapter."

I know some of you have been through the book several times, but this is my first time in a long while.
