CHAPTER 12-THE SUBCONSCIOUS
MIND THE CONNECTING LINK

“Under hypnosis, older people can often remember, with perfect
clarity, events from fifty years before. Your unconscious
memory is virtually perfect. It is your conscious recall that
is suspect. The function of your subconscious mind is to store
and retrieve data.” Brian Tracy

I start my experience as a driver in the seat of our small farm
tractor. My Dad started me first working in the field. Moving up
to allowing me to drive the country road between the fields in a
slow gear and eventual in road gear. Slowly I moved up to bigger
equipment. Dad finally allowed me to drive the ‘49 Ford ¾-ton
flatbed truck in the field, boy I was the way. I can still
remember the first time Dad let me get behind the wheel of our
’56 Buick Special 4-door hardtop. I was on top of the world.

Each step of the way in my venture in becoming a driver was a
learning experience. How to use the clutch, brakes (there a right
and left brake of tractors), accelerator, and more. Then there
were the rules of the road, stay on the right, the to give the
correct hand signs (before turn signal) and how to
stay out of the
ditch (Learned that one the hard way).

I believe the best way to understand the subconscious mind is to
look at the example of the person who wants to learn how to drive
a car. In the
beginning, he wouldn't be able to hold a conversation
with anyone while driving as he would be focusing on the different
moves involved. That's because he's still using his conscious mind
to drive. A f
ew weeks later driving becomes a natural habit that
happens automatically without needing to think about it. Some even
start using their cell phone or talking to his friends while driving
(watch out for that ditch).

This happened because the driving habit has been transferred to
his subconscious mind and so the conscious mind
becomes free.

Remember, your subconscious mind functions voluntarily, whether you
make any effort to influence it or not. This, naturally, suggests to
you that thoughts of fear and poverty, and all negative thoughts
serve as stimuli to your subconscious mind, unless, you master these
impulses and give it more desirable food upon which it may feed.

Just as we are to carefully consider what feed our body for it to stay
healthy, we also must take care of what we feed our subconscious mind.
A steady diet of negative emotions will poison our body, mind,
and health
as cocaine does an addict. Our good health (body, soul, and mind) can
only come through the application of the positive emotion. Only with the
injection of positives emotions, through the principle of auto-suggestion,
can we drive out the negative thoughts and impulses from the
subconscious mind.

I am grateful to have a place like Mentoring for Free to rebuild my
subconscious mind. Here I have learned I don’t have live in fear, doubt,
anger and any of the negative emotions. The choice I have made is to
live
in the light of desire, faith, love, sex, enthusiasm, romance, hope,
prosperity.

Thank you, Linda and Michael Dlouhy for the positive energy you are feeding
us every day. To my personal mentor and friend, Bob Shoaf, thanks for your
encouragement and support. To all who participate and share your wisdom
each my deepest thanks. A special
thanks to everyone who downloaded “Success
in 10 Steps” and speak with me weekly.
