Chapter 10 Power of the Mastermind

The Ninth Step toward Riches

In our study of this book we have observed the transformation of a dream or idea, first into a passionate desire or goal which may be animate or inanimate as in the case of riches. In a previous chapter it was observed that knowledge came in three forms General, Specialised and that derived from Research and Development. Knowledge on its own is inert it gains it power from organisation.

A single Brain in the modern age cannot store the even a small amount of the total amount of all knowledge available in the World Libraries and now available through the Internet. Henry Ford through his association with other entrepreneurs of his era, such as Harvey Firestone, John Burroughs, and Luther Burbank, (each a man of great brain capacity), was able to overcome his handicaps of poverty, illiteracy, and ignorance. With each of these men he formed a master mind and was able to use their knowledge.
A single Brain has available a certain amount of power available through its organised knowledge, this may not be sufficient to provide all the necessary power to see a dream to its ultimate Goal. It requires the input of additional power (Knowledge). The canny little Scotsman Andrew Carnegie in setting up his Steel Empire used the minds of a Master Mind group, each with Specialised Knowledge of different aspects of Steel Manufacture, Production and Economics. Remember Carnegie knew nothing about the Production of Steel and its products.
When Carnegie propositioned Hill to research and come up with a Philosophy for transforming thoughts into riches, it was necessary for Hill to research the Minds of successful entrepreneurs of his era along with other successful and not so successful people. In doing this research he used the Master Mind Principle to obtain the information forming a master mind with each one or more of the people.
How does the Master Mind work? Hill compares it to a battery made up of single cells, with a known capacity (Energy/Power), which are joined and able to produced a combined power greater than the single cell. The Master Mind works in a comparable way. When two minds work in harmony they form a third mind of greater knowledge (Power) than either of the single minds. Henry Ford’s Master Mind consisted of some forty plus single minds.
Here a Mentoring For Free we have a Master Mind Group made up of theoretical an infinite number of minds, the controlling factor is the Harmony of the Group. One negative mind can affect the positivity of the overall. Therefore like a battery where a failed cell must be replaced so is the case in the Master Mind Group. The person or persons causing the disharmony must be removed and replaced with a person or persons with harmonic attitudes to the overall Master Mind.
Think and Grow Rich is the result of 25 years work of Hill master minding with some of the great American Entrepreneurs. It demonstrates what can be achieved through the power of the Master Mind and the organised knowledge.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Linda and Michael Dlouhy for the inspiration to create this Master Mind of people from around the World to form Mentoring For Free. My Gratitude to each and every Mind, which contribute each week, their Knowledge (Power) in their Posted Lessons, which enhance the overall Knowledge of the Group.
