Chapter 9: Persistence

Hill writes "I had the happy privilege of analyzing both Mr. Edison
and Mr. Ford, year by year, over a long period of years, and therefore,
the opportunity to study them at close range, so I speak from actual
knowledge when I say that I found no quality save PERSISTENCE,
in either of them, that even remotely suggested the major source of
their stupendous achievements."

Bill Bradley has stated "Ambition is the path to success. Persistence
is the vehicle you arrive in."

Mr. Edison and Mr. Ford had ambition but persistence is what took them to success.

Hill tells us "If you find you are weak in PERSISTENCE, center your attention
upon the instructions contained in the chapter on “Power”; surround yourself
with a “MASTER MIND” group, and through the cooperative efforts of the
members of this group, you can develop persistence."

Some think coming to these Think & Grow Rich lessons calls is not building
their business but in reality it is the most important part of building our business.  This
is  our "MASTER MIND" group.

As we have heard Michael say many times "In order to make more, you must become more."
We cannot do that if we do not have personal development and surround ourselves with
people who have the mindset of success, determination and persistence.

On these calls we listen and learn from each other.  We are encouraged to keep
going, we are encouraged when we hear of others success, we are encouraged
when we see how someone has grown in their postings, etc.

There is a saying "Success breeds success",  meaning the more a person, or team,
or country, or company experiences success, the more it tends to be successful.

So being around successful people we will also be influenced to become successful.
Being around people who have no ambition, no desire, no hope we will become
influenced to be lazy with no hope to attain any desire.

We have heard this saying so many times lately but it is so true "How you do anything
is how you do everything."  So we really want to "hang around with" successful people
and people who are on the way to success. We want to learn the right "anything" so it
becomes how we do our "everything".  It all comes down to having the right "attitude".

Persistence is important in all areas of our lives, our marriages, our relationships,
our daily tasks and of course our business.  On these calls we hear examples of persistence
in all these areas of our lives and we can learn from them all, but it takes persistence on our
part to read each chapter weekly, post a lesson, read all the lessons and be here weekly to
"become what we need to become".

Where else are you going to get this most important training; and all it takes is our time.

Hill tells us "Without PERSISTENCE, you will be defeated, even before you start.
With PERSISTENCE you will win."
