Having informed us how to create our plans based upon our life’s purpose and desires, Hill now discusses the necessary steps needed to make our plan effective. Nobody can be effective in network marketing unless the plan is as efficient as possible.

There are two strands to this discussion. The first strand is self-development, which really is never-ending. We must become leaders so that people will follow and imitate our example. If we are saying our self-talk and listening to the hunches and inspirations from the universe and Infinite Intelligence, we will acquire the qualities of leadership. By listening, we will gain knowledge of our true selves and become people better able to relate to others on a human level. Hill puts it this way: “Success comes through the application of power, and power is attained through the co-operative efforts of other people. A negative personality will not induce co-operation”.

The qualities of leadership, such as, self-control, a keen sense of justice, definiteness of plans and purpose, a pleasing personality and a willingness to take responsibility for the mistakes of followers will only come when we become self-aware and know ourselves.

The second strand relates to our ability to listen to others, by seeking help from a mastermind of people who are already successful in our business. We must be open-minded enough to submit our plans to the scrutiny of others and be willing to accept suggestions to change tack on occasions. Membership of such a group also brings responsibility to participate in discussion and thus help others. Hill stresses this when he says, “No intelligent person will either request or expect another to work without adequate compensation, although this may not always be in the form of money”.

The major strength of the Mentoring for Free mastermind is that it combines self- development with business mentoring.
