What exactly is Auto-Suggestion? Here is how Hill describes it.
AUTO-SUGGESTION is a term which applies to all suggestions and all self-administered stimuli which reach one’s mind through the five senses. Stated in another way, autosuggestion is self-suggestion. It is the agency of communication between that part of the mind where conscious thought takes place, and that which serves as the seat of action for the subconscious mind
AUTOSUGGESTION is the agency of control through which an individual may voluntarily feed his subconscious mind on thoughts of a creative nature, or, by neglect, permit thoughts of a destructive nature to find their way into this rich garden of the mind.
In simple terms it is just known as plain simple self talk. But there is a catch for it to work. It’s has to be done with emotion and belief, it takes the mastery of concentration and you must do it A LOT, especially at first.
Hill says “NO THOUGHT, whether it be negative or positive, CAN ENTER THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND WITHOUT THE AID OF THE PRINCIPLE OF AUTO-SUGGESTION, with the exception of thoughts picked up from the ether. Stated differently, all sense impressions which are perceived through the five senses, are stopped by the CONSCIOUS thinking mind, and may be either passed on to the subconscious mind, or rejected, at will. The conscious faculty serves, therefore, as an outer-guard to the approach of the subconscious.”
It’s amazing first of all that we have control of our thoughts. We learned that in chapter one. And Hill tells us here that we can also control what we let in to the subconscious. That can be a pretty big job. Harv Eker says that in doing that we do have to acknowledge our thoughts and then when they come up either except them or say thank you for sharing, cancel or pass.
Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlouhy for all you do and to all my friends and mastermind partners for sharing your brilliance with me.
