Chapter 1 - Thoughts Are Things.

Hill shares with us the story of  Edwin C. Barnes who presented himself at
Mr. Edison’s laboratory, and announced he had come to go
into business with the inventor.  Barnes did not want to work
for Edison, Barnes wanted to work with Edison.

As Hill tells us “Months went by. Apparently nothing happened to bring the
coveted goal which Barnes had set up in his mind as his DEFINITE
MAJOR PURPOSE.  But something important was happening in Barnes’ mind.“

When we become a part of Mentoring for Free we are announcing
we have come to go into business and just like Barnes we are
definite about our decision.  We are exposed to the truths of
the Network Marketing Industry and we are invited to join a
mastermind group of people with similar goals and dreams of
becoming successful.

If we get plugged in, stay the course, attend and participate on the
calls and are here year after year we too will have that “something important
happening in our mind.”

It was what Barnes THOUGHT that counted and Barnes was constantly
intensifying his DESIRE to become the business associate of Edison.
Barnes did not get his partnership with Edison on his first interview
but he was DETERMINED TO REMAIN READY UNTIL HE GOT THAT WHICH HE WAS SEEKING.

Are we determined to remain ready until we get what we seek?

We become determined and ready and we are constantly intensifying
and reinforcing our desire when we are here on the Mentoring for Free
calls.

We become motivated by others as we listen, as we share, as we learn.
Little by little, week by week, month by month and as time goes on
we begin to feel that “something important happening” in
our mind, in our attitude, in our confidence.  We learn how to
Think not what to think, we begin to live in the now, we begin to realize
that we are a part of something much bigger than just building a business.
We learn to play our music so we don’t die with our music still in us.  We learn to live
life enjoying the journey.

Hill tells us “Barnes had initiative, faith, and the will to win. With these intangible
forces he made himself number one man with the greatest inventor who ever lived.”

As we gain initiative, faith and the will to win, we grow and fulfill
our purpose in all areas of our lives.

“Something important is happening.”   Do we feel it?
