“The starting point of all achievement is desire. The finishing point is that brand of knowledge which leads to understanding – understanding of self, understanding of others, understanding of the laws of nature, recognition and understanding of happiness.

This sort of understanding comes in its fullness only through familiarity with, and use of the principle of the sixth sense.”

Knowledge and use of the sixth sense, as Hill says, “opens the door to the temple of wisdom”. To be successful in any undertaking, but especially in network marketing, it is necessary to have available to you a steady flow of hunches and inspirations from Infinite Intelligence through the sixth sense or the creative imagination.

It all begins with a strongly held and intensely believed desire which is continuously renewed by a repeated self-talk, followed by persistent, knowledgeable and imaginative organised planning and action.

Before you can understand others and how they will react to you, you must understand yourself. This will only happen if you recognise the need for change, which implies humility and a willingness, because of this, to commence a programme of self-improvement.

Understanding others is vital in network marketing, because you cannot be a leader unless you are aware of the sensitivities of your followers and are able to speak to them in the language that they understand. The first step, as the last paragraph indicates, is to understand self and to correct whatever weaknesses you have with the assistance of a competent mentor.

As you will not succeed in network marketing without the help of other people, you must treat people with full respect and honesty, if you want them to respect and follow you. This is what Hill means by the phrase “understanding of the laws of nature”.

Lastly, your chosen desire should be one that reflects your true nature and one, from the pursuit of which, you derive the most happiness.

Being able to understand and use the sixth sense is the reason you need to master Hill’s thirteen principles of success. If you are able to apply these thirteen principles, Hill says that, “eventually you will find yourself in possession of a power that will enable you to throw off discouragement, master fear, overcome procrastination, and draw freely upon your imagination”.
