Chapter 12 The Subconscious Mind
THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND THE CONNECTING LINK
The Eleventh Step toward Riches
The Subconscious Mind is multi functional; firstly it operates as a filing cabinet into which is feed every impulse of thought that reaches the objective mind through any of the five senses, is classified and recorded, and from which thoughts may be recalled or withdrawn as letters may be taken from a filing cabinet. This being carried out at a conscious level.
Hill further tells us that the Subconscious Mind, “receives, and files, sense impressions or thoughts, regardless of their nature which may be received in the form of hunches and dreams from infinite Intelligence”. He further goes on to state that, “You may VOLUNTARILY plant in your subconscious mind any plan, thought, or purpose which you desire to translate into its physical or monetary equivalent. The subconscious acts first on the dominating desires which have been mixed with emotional feeling, such as faith”.
Unlike the Conscious Mind, the Subconscious Mind does not sleep, constantly processing thoughts, both negative and positive, received via the five senses. Negative thoughts enter the Subconscious Mind unheeded, whilst positive thoughts, as stated above, require emotional transplanting into the Subconscious Mind. Remember the negative and positive thoughts cannot coexist.
Another function of the Subconscious Mind is communication with Infinite Intelligence. The subconscious mind is the intermediary between the Conscious Mind of man and Infinite Intelligence. It does this by acting similar to a broadcasting station which transmits sounds through the Ether by a process of stepping up and stepping down the frequency of the sound wishing to be transmitted several million times, between two stations.
The Subconscious Mind acts in a similar manner, stepping up the vibrations of a thought several million times for transmission to Infinite Intelligence and stepping back down the answer received, translating it into organised plans and actions.
A good example of this is Prayer, the Subconscious Mind translates one’s prayers into terms which Infinite Intelligence can recognize, presents the message, and brings back the answer in the form of a definite plan or idea for procuring the object of the prayer.
Based on the fact that negative and positive thoughts cannot coexist, allows a person to exert control over the thoughts entering the Subconscious Mind. Positive thoughts are placed into the Subconscious Mind by increasing the vibration of a thought many times, at which time negative thoughts are prevented from entering the Subconscious Mind.
Self Talk is a means of ensuring that our passionate desires are transmitted to the Subconscious Mind provided that they are mixed with intense positive human emotion. Self Talk of a positive nature, said many hundreds of times a day therefore gives us a means of controlling what enters our Subconscious Mind.
