Chaptr 12 - The Subconscious Mind
Hill writes "The subconscious mind receives, and files, sense impressions
or thoughts, regardless of their nature. You may VOLUNTARILY plant in your
subconscious mind any plan, thought, or purpose which you desire to
translate into its physical or monetary equivalent. The subconscious acts
first on the dominating desires which have been mixed with emotional
feeling, such as faith.
The subconscious mind will not remain idle! If you fail to plant DESIRES
in your subconscious mind, it will feed upon the thoughts which reach it
as the result of your neglect."
To neglect is to give little attention or respect to and to leave undone
or unattended to, especially through carelessness.
How careful are we about our thoughts? Do we actually think about what
we are thinking about our thoughts? Where did they come from? What
thoughts do we hang on to for years without even pondering if they are
true or are they just there because we neglected to give them the
attention they needed whether negative or positive?
If our thoughts are negative we need to recognize them for what they
are and get rid of them and replace those thoughts with positive thoughts.
Earl Nightingale says "Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and
nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality.
We can only control what we think and yet so many times we have let
others control our thoughts, and by giving up that control we have
allowed others to control our world, make our decisions, live our lives for us.
Marcus Aurelius stated "You have power over your mind - not outside events.
Realize this, and you will find strength."
And, Neil Gaiman has said "The one thing that you have that nobody else
has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and
draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can."
