Chapter 8 Decision: The Mastery of Procrastination
The definition of Procrastination is the act or habit of procrastinating, or putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate attention. How many times have we said to ourselves “I will wait and do it tomorrow because I have plenty of time”? Moreover, before we know it tomorrow is upon us! The ability to decide quickly comes from knowing what it is you want, and it is that ability that defines leaders.
People who have no desire of their own are heavily influenced by the opinions of others, and are not likely to succeed. We find ourselves concern too much about what others may think and base decision on pleasing everyone. As the author states, “The world has the habit of making room for the man whose words and actions show that he knows where he is going and without exception, all successful people have the habit of making decisions promptly, and of changing them slowly. Great accomplishments come from courageous decisions”.
The take away for me is the different between being successful and unsuccessful is the ability to not procrastinate and have a lack of decision. Do not worry too much about making the wrong decision because the bad decision is not making a decision at all (hope I said that correctly).
Therefore, I have made the decision to follow Michael Dlouhy and the Mentoring For Free program and all of you here with the program. Thanks for the opportunity!
