“…faith is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of autosuggestion.” By means of autosuggestion, or, as we call it, self-talk, you can make yourself believe that you can do anything that is possible. That self-talk must be repeated many times daily with full power of concentration and, ideally, accompanied with a visual picture of your desire having been attained. Of course, what is humanly possible, is a subjective thing, since many inventions, before they were invented, were considered impossible. It takes human imagination to lay down the bounds of possibility.

“Repetition of affirmation of orders to your subconscious mind is the only known method of voluntary development of the emotion of faith.” Faith is described as an emotion, so the mere repetition of self-talk without concentration on what is being said is a waste of time. I respectfully suggest that faith in God can be part of a self-talk by harnessing your belief that God’s power will help you satisfy your desire. This is why I think that your stated and daily repeated purpose, and the self-talk that originates from it, should be about realizing your full potential as a human being, and not just about money. Certainly, money should be part of it, but not to the exclusion of self-development with the intent of leaving a legacy of goodness. Of course, I accept that one does not have to believe in God to ask for help from the universe and Infinite Intelligence.

“A mind dominated by positive emotions becomes a favourable abode for the state of mind known as faith.” You have to believe in yourself and in the essential goodness of people with whom you come in contact. This is especially true in network marketing. To survive and prosper in life and in network marketing, you need to build your spider web, and you cannot do this unless you “eliminate hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism by developing love for all humanity”. This is the key point of chapter 3 of Success in 10 Steps which is titled “A Big Research Surprise.

There is no better way of protecting oneself from “the hatred, envy, jealousy, selfishness and cynicism” so often peddled by the written, broadcast and television media than by spending some dedicated time daily saying one’s self-talk.
