Chapter 12 The Subconscious Mind: The Connecting Link
There is plenty of evidence to support the belief that the subconscious mind is the connecting link between the finite mind of man and Infinite Intelligence.--Napoleon Hill
Infinite Intelligence is where its at. All of what we need to manifest what we want in our lives is there. We just have to tap it to get what we need. And the way to do that is via the subconscious mind that is a kind of gateway. It takes our instructions in the form of thoughts and impressions and submits them to infinite intelligence. Kind of like placing an order with a waiter or waitress at a restaurant. What comes back is what we ordered.
Sometimes we are surprised, however. We may think we ordered a new car, but what comes back is one that doesn't pass inspection. Or maybe we thought we ordered success in our business but what came back was a lot of frustration or some cash flow but not enough to pay our bills.
To get what we want we have to up our game. Hill talks about the importance of directing our subconscious mind through habit....in fact he says habit is the only way to voluntarily direct it. Apparently to convince Infinite Intelligence that we are serious we must send directions consistently to the subconscious, so much so that this activity becomes a habit, and the main habit for directing the subconscious is daily self talk. But not just any self-talk...it must delivered powerfully with emotion and multiple times, as often as 500 to 1,000 repetitions per day.
Look at any successful person, someone you want to emulate, someone who is creating what you say you want, and you will find some form of self talk in place, some consistent messages delivered powerfully to the subconscious on a daily basis. We know that is what is happening because we can see the results.
You may be able to identify many reasons for your own lack of success. It could be anything from past experiences, to the way you were raised, to your personality type. Any of these could contribute to less than powerful results in your life.
But the good news of this chapter is that all of that can be overcome if we first create powerful self talk reflecting our true desires. Not something we think a boss, a parent or a neighbor may want for us, but something we truly deep down desire, that reflects who we really are. Once we create this perfect self talk we can choose to use it daily and consistently, with emotion, until the subconscious mind delivers it to Infinite Intelligence.
When that happens what comes back will be the life we say we truly want.
