Hill states at the opening of this chapter “THE SUBCONSCIOUS MIND consists of a field of consciousness, in which every impulse of thought that reaches the objective mind through any of the five senses, is classified and recorded, and from which thoughts may be recalled or withdrawn as letters may be taken from a filing cabinet.
It receives, and files, sense impressions or thoughts, regardless of their nature. You may VOLUNTARILY plant in your subconscious mind any plan, thought, or purpose which you desire to translate into its physical or monetary equivalent.
I look at the subconscious mind as a huge filing cabinet. It holds the files of our whole life. Files of our early years when people told us that we couldn't do anything right, that something was not possible, that we were just dreamers or never would amount to anything. That we were stupid. That we were fat. That we were ugly. Then there are the files that we have that are pleasurable, when we accomplished something in sports, when we got an academic achievement. When we met the love of out life. When we had a vaction to a place we have never been before that is so wonderful you can't wait to go back.
If you have pulled out a drawer on your filing cabinet and then started to go through it and saw all of the overstuffed envelopes and realized, hey there is a lot of junk in here, I don't need all of this stuff, it's time to clean it out. That's what we have to do with all of those files that are non-empowering and destructive to our lives. The negative stuff that I mentioned first, it has to be all taken out and shredded and replaced with positive files that will serve and empower us.
Isn't it wonderful that we have the choice and the ability to fill and program our file cabinet with any of the files that we want them there? How do we do that? By doing our self talk and the more we do it each day and the more consistently we do it everyday the faster we get the results. And we have to remember that even one negative thought cancels out all of those positive thoughts so we have to guard our subconscious mind as we would guard a vault of gold.
Thank you Linda and Michael Dlouhy for providing this platform and to all my mastermind partners who I have the benefit of receiving their wisdom each week.
