This chapter is a great chapter. I can agree with Ben Drake as well. I will add one thing though; you also have to deliberately choose your own attitude.
Do not allow others to choose it for you. Has anyone ever experienced being in a good frame of mind or in a good mood and someone walks into a room
with a negative spirit and because of the negative spirit that they are carrying they end up changing your whole vibe?
For instance you could be experiencing happiness and joy and this person enters the room with a spirit of anger or depression and suddenly the whole
atmosphere changes and you are left wondering what happened? You woke up happy and joyful, now all of a sudden you are angry or depressed and
you don't know why. I have learned that this comes from not being on top of your thought and spiritual life; not guarding yourself. We must take negative
thoughts captive and cast them out.
I have just begun to start analyzing my thought life. When a certain thought comes to mind that may be negative, I have begun asking myself where did
that come from and why am I thinking or feeling this way? Sometimes I have to dig for the answer and sometimes what I come up with is not pleasant.
However the good thing about this is that when I am truthful with myself, I can begin to make the necessary change and embark on a positive journey in
that area that was once negative or fear based. Some fears are easy to change but it is the ones that we don't recognize as fear that are hardest; it is like
this chapter states - it can be wrapped up in alibis and excuses.
I really like this chapter because it is going to help me deal with the issues and fear based things that I have in my own life.
This journey is a challenge but it will be well worth it.
