                                                                     CHAPTER 7

                                                            ORGANIZED PLANNING:

THE CRYSTALIZATION OF DESIRE INTO ACTION

                                                        The Sixth Step Toward Riches

PERSISTENCE.   Unwavering, dogged PERSISTENCE.

Hill said, "If the first plan which you adopt does not work successfully, replace it with a new plan.  If this new plan fails to work, replace it, in turn with still another, and so on, until you find a plan which DOES WORK.  Right here is the point at which the majority of men meet with failure because of their lack of PERSISTENCE in creating new plans to take the place of those which fail."

Or as my grandmother said (as well as others), "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again."

There have been several times I have had to be persistent.  I pursued Nathan until he caught me.  After our frst date, I returned to my dorm and told my roommate I was going yo maeey him  PERSISTENCE,

I retunred to university at age 38 to complete my undergraduate degree.  With PERSISTENCE, I graduated summa cum laude.  I continued and received a master's degree. graduating cum laude by the age of 48.  I had two boys, a job, and a husband who traveled for his job.  PERSISTENCE.

Some plans are made in the face of death.  In 2014, I was in ICU and had to be on a life-flight to Dallas.  My liver was failing, and there was talk of a transplant; but, they would not do surgery.  The doctor said I was too frail.  I was dying; but, I would die on the table, they said.  My doctor here seriously told me he expected me to come home in a box.

We hired a personal trainer.  I worked hard, like my life depended on it.  PERSISTENCE helped me to lose over 120 pounds.  With PERSISTENCE, I adopted a regemin of exercise, diet, and prescription and OTC medications that has been successful.  They will still not give me a transplant.  I no longer meet the criteria.  I am too healthy.  PERSISTENCE with my program keeps me alive.  And I like it!

Hill offers this advice:  "Your achievement can be no greater than your PLANS are sound,"

Thanks to Nathan for his PERSISTENCE in the MFF program and in my life.  Thanks to Michael and Linda for their PERSISTENCE in developing this program, and to Bob for hanging in there with me  Thanks to every one on the calls whose PERSISTENCE is shown every week.
