What is our life except for the thoughts we carry around in our mind? Hill tells us that Faith is the “eternal elixir” which gives life, power, and action to the impulse of thought. Every man is what is because of the dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his mind.
When I graduated from high school in a small west Texas town, for some reason I had the thought or faith that I could someday graduate from the university of Texas. Even though I my grades were some near the bottom of the graduating class. To say the least I was a very poor student. With no money, poor grades, and faith that I could somehow go to college and graduate, I went to the university, enrolled, got a job, I started college with the faith that I could somehow do it. The first year I flunked most of my courses and was put on probation.
Faith is the only known antidote for failure. My English professor said I should not be in college, my ROTC instructor had enough faith in me to co-sign a note at the bank and encouraged me to stay in college. It was through his encouragement, his faith in me that my faith in me grew. It was my repletion of thoughts to my subconscious that my faith became so strong that I knew that somehow, I could finish. Faith is that eternal elixir.
It is impossible not to have THOUGHTS, it is how we handle those THOUGHTS that controls our life and our future. Being aware that Impulse of Thought is directing our life through our Faith. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. With Faith, we can hold our vision steady and in due time we will reach our goals, our desires. In my case a college degree.
