THE “thirteenth” principle is known as the SIXTH SENSE, through which Infinite Intelligence may, and will communicate voluntarily, without any effort from, or demands by, the individual.
Hill tells us “This principle is the apex of the philosophy. It can be assimilated, understood, and applied ONLY by first mastering the other twelve principles”. That may well be true, as is the fact that millions of people, including myself, (too long a story for this post), have experienced their sixth sense at work, even if that was not the name they called it by and they had no knowledge of the principles outlined in this book.
Certainly, after every major catastrophe stories abound of those who survived by what at first glance might seem pure luck or a ‘feeling’ which caused them to change, often carefully planned actions which meant they avoided injury or worse.
Equally when interviewed, many successful men and women put the reason for that success down to a ‘feeling’ or ‘hunch’ or even “I just knew the time was right”. To me, what they did, knowingly or not, was to take notice of their sixth sense.
Hill also states that while recognizing his meetings with were imaginary, taking place only in his mind, they encouraged creative thinking and actions. He further tells us that he found his mind to be most alert and receptive to new ideas during his meeting with his invisible counsellors and that he had originally intended these meetings to help influence his subconscious mind through auto- suggestion.
Similarly, as members of Mentoring for Free, we have regular access to our own ‘Counsellors’, better known to us as our Mastermind group, to help stimulate our thinking to form our personal action plans. These, now focused and pin sharp plans, ambitions and desires are then also sent to our subconscious mind which we influence through daily self-talk.
Think and Grow Rich is almost certainly one of the most read personal development books ever written, yet, ours is the only forum I know which invests the time to read and dissect every chapter to help open every readers mind to a deeper understanding of the lessons Hill was trying to pass on as well as gaining valuable insights from everyone who contributes.
