Chapter 3 -  Faith, the Second Step toward Riches

Later in this chapter Mr. Hill gives several definitions of FAITH, one of which is paraphrased her - FAITH is what gives life, power, and action to the impulse of thought!

The chapter focuses on the prime principle of having or developing FAITH in our ability to achieve all those things we DESIRE. We read “FAITH is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions, (our daily self-talk) to the subconscious mind, through the principle of autosuggestion”.

The clincher is, or should be is the knowledge that, any impulse of thought which is repeatedly passed on to the subconscious mind is, finally, accepted and acted upon by the subconscious mind, which proceeds to translate that impulse into its physical equivalent, by the most practical procedure available.

What better of a guarantee is there?

While agreeing with Mr. Hills assertions, it’s my belief we also need something a little extra to help us stay on our chosen path, to sustain that drive even after Faith has turned to CERTAINTY.

We need a powerful ‘WHY’.

I would like to share what I think is an incredibly powerful yet short ‘WHY’ I heard recently – “I just want to wake up every day and think about the future without feeling sad” *

The person who gave this as his ‘WHY’ has already impacted our World in ways I marvel at simply because the more I listen and read, the more I am in awe of his achievements so far and more importantly perhaps, what is yet to come. It’s my genuine belief that in years to come he will be held in the same regard as Einstein, Edison, Ford and other giants of Science and Industry who added their individual ‘WHY’s to strong and focussed desires.

*Elon Musk has combined a DESIRE to find solutions to problems to change things for the better, the FAITH that with the right MASTERMIND TEAM around him and the constant RE-AFFIRMATION brought by even tiny successes shows him that he is remaining true to his ‘WHY’.

Part of that FAITH in the rightness of their desires is the ability of each of these famous people to accept mistakes not as obstacles but as guides to future success.

I have no desire to change the World in such fundamental ways but I do know that even though I am some way yet from being where I want to be, following the principles laid out in this book I is why I wake up every day and feel happy about what I can do for the futures of those I care for and meet.
