Chapter 1 - Thoughts Are Things

One of the sentences in this chapter that stood out for me is:
Psychologists have correctly said that “when one is truly ready for a thing, it puts in its appearance.”

This could also be stated as the title of this chapter states "Thoughts are things."
"Being ready for a thing" is believing and seeing in our mind the "thing" before we actually
realize it as fact in our lives.

A lot of single people say they want to be married.  Yet they never prepare in their mind what it is
they want in a partner and in many cases they never prepare themselves to be the partner that
person would consider marrying.  That to me is not being ready so how would that mate put on its apprearance.

A lot of people want to be successful in business.  Yet they never prepare in their mind what success
actually means to them and they never figure out why they want that success and don't also prepare
themselves to be ready to receive that success.  As Michael tells us, "In order to make more, you
have to become more".  Yet many do not want to take the time to "become more".

So if we do not prepare ourselves, how can we be ready to receive?

Ralph Waldo Emerson says "People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession
of their character."

To have the right character to have success in anything we have to prepare ourselves.  To find the
"dream" guy or gal into our lives we have to be the "dream" guy or gal for them.  Have we prepared
ourselves to be that "dream" guy or gal?

To be successful in our business we also have to prepare ourselves to "become more" to be
able to fill those shoes that successful people wear.

It all comes down to how we think and believe about anything.  Everything we want to attain in life
comes down to putting in some work and action.  We do not become a perfect mate or a successful
entrepreneur without preparation and thought.  We do not become a "servant with a servants heart"
without preparation and the right thoughts.

Napoleon Hill tells us "thoughts are things".

In order to help us in our preparation we can begin by following what Matthew Keith Groves tells us,

"Replace the word ‘problem’ with the word ‘opportunity’ in all your thoughts."
