Our Thoughts ARE Powerful!

Being a Blue, I have to FOCUS on my lesson plans.  I read and re-read the chapter.  I copy the passages that speak to me.  Then I force myself to think about what I read, consistently removing all distractions from my mind and environment.  When I follow this personal guideline, I am assured of getting everything I need out of what I read.

I like to look up the meanings of phrases, even if I think I know the definition of a word.  Why?  Sometimes we can be surprised at the true definition of a word.  For example:  Did you know that the word “Desire” can be both a noun and a verb?  Now, I am not certain what your thoughts are on this, but I honestly believe that when Napoleon Hill speaks of a Burning Desire, he is looking at the verb tense.  Our “burning desire” must be active not passive.  It must consume our thoughts and actions.  By the way, the verb definition of the word “Desire” is:  to strongly wish or want (for something).  (Personally, I do not like the word “wish”).

So I went even further and looked up the word “burning”.  Here it is:  being on fire:  of fundamental importance :  urgent.  Maybe we could say this:

We urgently want to be successful with a fire that burns inside of us.

Or, you could put your desire in place of the word successful.  I love that definition!  It is all-consuming and passionate.

The story about Edwin C. Barnes really stood out to me.  His burning desire to become a partner with Edison is inspiring.  He had to do some waiting before his “burning desire” was fulfilled.  I, too, am currently waiting.  The blue in me, wants it now!  The reason behind my having to wait is a long story, filled with failure.  June 20th is my magical date and it cannot come soon enough.  However, during my wait, I am envisioning the outcome.  My desire is increasing with a fire that burns inside of me.

The failure I mentioned above is not something I focus on.  We learn from our struggles and they inspire us to move forward with new knowledge and new focus.  We will not stop three feet from the gold.  We will not take no for an answer.

Here is what I am waiting for with a fire that burns deep inside of me:

WHEN RICHES BEGIN TO COME THEY COME SO QUICKLY, IN SUCH GREAT ABUNDANCE, THAT ONE WONDERS WHERE THEY HAVE BEEN HIDING DURING ALL THOSE LEAN YEARS.
