CHAPTER 14-THE SIXTH SENSE
THE DOOR TO THE TEMPLE OF WISDOM
The SIXTH SENSE is that portion of the subconscious mind
which has been referred to as the Creative Imagination.
It has also been referred to as the "receiving set" through
which ideas, plans, and thoughts flash into the mind. The
"flashes" are sometimes called "hunches" or "inspirations."
Understanding of the sixth sense comes only by meditation
through mind development from within. The sixth sense probably
is the medium of contact between the finite mind of man and
Infinite Intelligence, and for this reason, it is a mixture
of both the mental and the spiritual. It is believed to be
the point at which the mind of man contacts the Universal
The more I have read “Think and Grow Rich” I have come to a
greater understanding that everyone has become what or who
they are, because of their dominating or controlling thoughts
and desire. It is those deeply seated desires, wishes, and
dreams which causes us to seek outward expression to transmute
them into reality. I see now that only in self-suggestion or
self-talk that can I build the character which God had called
me to be.
When Martin Luther King gave his “I Have a Dream” speech, you
can be assured that it had been in his thoughts long before it
become spoken words. I have doubt he repeated these thoughts
and words first to himself 1000’s of times. They become louder
so that his family, close friends, the congregation in Atlanta
and finally the entire world heard them.
When the Wright brothers lifted off the ground at Kitty Hawks
on that cool December morning, I know for a fact their dream
started as a thought, transformed into self-talk, then shared
talk and finally into transmuted reality.
I know positively when Michael Dlough had those thoughts come in
him in Houston, Texas of creating a mentoring program self-talk
was there during the years of meditating, dreaming, and composing
what is Mentoring for Free.
When I came to Mentoring for Free, I had been in a dark place
for some time. I/we had experienced financial losses, health
issues, and deep sense of loneness. What I found here was
acceptance, faith, assurance and renewal. Here I saw that thoughts
do count. What I go about saying to myself does matter? I have
a sixth-sense that is alive and well. That those flashes, hunches
and inspirations are real and to be listened to!
I choose daily to say my self-talks 500+ times. I will daily
read or listen a book or message from those who walk the path
before. I will reach out and give of myself and experiences to
others with whom I connect.
Thanks to Linda and Michael Dlough for the gift you keep on giving
with Mentoring for Free. Thanks to Bob Shoaf and others mentors for
your gifts of joy and faith in the these system. To all who are on
the calls and special to those who participate thank for you sharing
of ideas and wisdom. Thank you to all who are downloading the e-book
“Success in10 Steps”, joining us on this journey.
