The brain is an exceedingly, complex organ. As I read this chapter, I was reminded how important it is to watch our thoughts. In addition, since the brain is capable of picking up thoughts from other brains, we must be careful and selective in whom we spend our time with.
I am reminded of the hungry, deceitful sharks out there, or wolves in sheep’s clothing. When we listen to deceit, the brain absorbs those thoughts and we find ourselves making wrong choices. I believe this is why Napoleon Hill said that we should surround ourselves with successful, positive individuals.
When stimulated, or “stepped up” to a high rate of vibration, the mind becomes more receptive to the vibration of thought which reaches it through the ether from outside sources. This “stepping up” process takes place through the positive emotions, or the negative emotions. Through the emotions, the vibrations of thought may be increased.
It would then make sense that we want the positive emotions to outweigh the negative emotions. Especially since through the emotions, the vibrations of thought may be increased. Be careful of the company you keep, would seem to be a rule to live by.
With our self-talk, and spending time with positive individuals, we can be successful!
