The great American poet, Ella Wheeler Wilcox wrote “You never can tell what a thought will do in bringing you hate or love— For thoughts are things, and their airy wings are swifter than carrier doves.
This wonderful phrase seems to contradict a comment I have heard numerous times, “The subconscious is as clever as a bucket of bricks” so, you have to question if both of these two apparently opposite statements could be true?
I believe the answer to be yes because as we read in this chapter “ every impulse of thought that reaches the objective mind through any of the five senses, is classified and recorded and filed to be recalled later in the same way letters may be taken from a filing cabinet.
Just like our home computers it will store and file anything it receives, good or bad, happy, or sad without judgement or interpretation.
We then read “You may VOLUNTARILY plant in your subconscious mind any plan, thought, or purpose which you desire to translate into its physical or monetary equivalent. The subconscious acts first on the dominating desires which have been mixed with emotional feeling, such as faith”
The good news is because the subconscious mind works both day and night, once we plant the right thoughts and desires into it, regularly re-enforced through emotional repetition (our daily self-talk) it become our own little 24/7 solutions department as it works to provide the most practical blueprint for turning those desires into reality.
If we think of the subconscious as a vacuum cleaner sucking up everything put in its path, we can understand we can’t control everything it picks up but what we can do is to fill that vacuum with positive thoughts and ideas and voluntarily hand over to it any plan, desire, or purpose which we wish to be transformed into concrete form and leave no room for doubts or negative thoughts to gain a foothold.
Remember, the subconscious mind works 24/7 whether you want it to or not so. if you don’t give it something to work on for your own benefit, it will fill the time creating things you may not like quite so much, something nobody at Mentoring for Free wants for you.
So both earlier comments are true!! The fact is the subconscious cannot create anything without being fed with thoughts or ideas, so it's not that clever, but fed with the right food it is capable of creating the most amazing outcomes.
