Hill states: Remember this-a DECISION, in the minds of two men, might properly be called the beginning of the freedom which we, of the United States now enjoy. Remember, too, that the DECISION of these two men called for FAITH, and COURAGE, because it was dangerous.
It was wartime in ancient Israel when Hezekiah was king of Judah.  Sennacherib, King of Assyria, had invaded and captured the cities of Judah. He then sent a letter to Hezekiah urging his surrender. Hezekiah described the moment as " a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace".
With taunts and scoffs, Sennacherib boasted of his past military campaigns, belittling the God of Israel and threatening mayhem.  In that dreadful moment,  King Hezekiah did an unusual thing: He went up to the temple of the LORD and spread out the letter before the LORD". Hezekiah went before the LORD and evaluated the truth and the lie.  He remembered his decisions and promises to His God, his people and himself.  He heard a plan from the LORD and then took action.
Although, in this segment of the story, Hezekiah is alone in his moment of revelation, earlier in the story we are introduced to his possible mastermind group; Eliakim, who was in charge of his household, Shebna, the scribe and the elders of the priests who went to Isaiah the Prophet for wisdom and direction.
We too, as authors of our own destiny and members of this mastermind group have the responsibility to take what has been provided here and then lay it before the LORD to seek His wisdom for our own purposes and destiny.  There will be "a day of distress and rebuke and disgrace"; days when we are overwhelmed with the enemies that are rising against us. In those moments we must remind ourselves of what else Hill affirms, "In your search for the secret of the method, do not look for a miracle, because you will not find it. You will find only the eternal laws of Nature. These laws are available to every person who has the FAITH and the COURAGE to use them. They may be used to bring freedom to a nation, or to accumulate riches. There is no charge save the time necessary to understand and appropriate them."
I am thankful to each of you for your FAITH, and COURAGE, because it is dangerous.  I am grateful to Michael and his faithful wife for being our "Isaiah" that we can go to for wisdom and direction.  I am thankful for my team, and the leadership of Tony and Karen.  I am thrilled to know that we are destined to win!
