Chapter 15 - HOW TO OUTWIT THE SIX GHOSTS OF FEAR

This is the first time I have managed to stick with it and get through every chapter in this book, and complete a lesson! It has made a huge difference, and for that I thank you all for being here with your wisdom and positivity.

Hill says here that there are 3 ‘enemies’ that we all have to overcome if we are to become truly successful in our lives.

They are: INDECISION, DOUBT and FEAR.

Hill the goes on to say that:

“The Sixth Sense will never function while these three negatives, or any of them remain in your mind. The members of this unholy trio are closely related; where one is found, the other two are close at hand.

INDECISION is the seedling of FEAR! Remember this, as you read. Indecision crystalizes into DOUBT, the two blend and become FEAR! The “blending” process often is slow. This is one reason why these three enemies are so dangerous. They germinate and grow without their presence being observed.”

Wow!  That statement really does hit home – “where one is found, the other two are close at hand”

I don’t know about you, but that has given me the real reason for my lack of action, or as we say, procrastination. I now know that there is nothing to FEAR anymore, so I don’t have to concern myself about:
1. The INDECISION, i.e. for me, what others will think of me, because it does not matter!  It is none of my business!

2. The DOUBT, i.e. I do not have to DOUBT my abilities anymore, as I have done the work and learnt the lessons, so my ‘confidence’ in what I am doing is no longer an issue and

3. The FEAR is all in MY mind, nobody else’s!

This has been the most important lesson I have learnt from being part of this incredible group, who all stand by Michael’s statement of “I BELIEVE IN YOU!”

That means so much more to me now that I have gone through all 15 Chapters of this book, and learnt much (not all) of the lessons being taught here.

I can’t wait to get on to the next series!

This chapter is about Six Ghosts of FEAR that we will all have to understand before we can succeed.

I know now that I must strive to conquer ALL six, before I can truly  and it is worth noting them now, so that I can help others to overcome their challenges too.

“THE SIX BASIC FEARS

There are six basic fears, with some combination of which every human suffers at one time or another. Most people are fortunate if they do not suffer from the entire six.

Named in the order of their most common appearance, they are:—

The fear of POVERTY
The fear of CRITICISM
The fear of ILL HEALTH
The fear of LOSS OF LOVE OF SOMEONE
The fear of OLD AGE
The fear of DEATH

All other fears are of minor importance, they can be grouped under these six headings.”

It is interesting to note here that last sentence, because for me it points out that, if I am not aware of the ‘Power of Negative self-talk’, I am guilty of allowing all six fears to concern me.
Therefore I must at all costs now, concentrate on developing a ‘POSITIVE Self-Talk’ daily statement of intent, based on the information that Hill lays out in Chapter 4 on ‘Auto-Suggestion’  in this book.

The final two paragraphs in Chapter 4, I now understand, having read through this amazing book in its entirety now.

“After you have read the entire book, come back to this chapter, and follow in spirit, and in action, this instruction:

READ THE ENTIRE CHAPTER ALOUD ONCE EVERY NIGHT, UNTIL YOU BECOME THOROUGHLY CONVINCED THAT THE PRINCIPLE OF AUTO-SUGGESTION IS SOUND, THAT IT WILL ACCOMPLISH FOR YOU ALL THAT HAS BEEN CLAIMED FOR IT.

AS YOU READ, UNDERSCORE WITH A PENCIL EVERY SENTENCE WHICH IMPRESSES YOU FAVORABLY.

Follow the foregoing instruction to the letter, and it will open the way for a complete understanding, and mastery of the principles of success.”

That, for me is the only way now to craft my own self talk and eliminate the Six Ghosts of Fear.

Thank you all, for your wisdom and support in this incredible group.
