Chapter 13 of this weeks lesson brought back to my mind an excerpt from the book As A Man Thinketh that says, quote,
"Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:—
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass."
And as I meditate on statements found in Chapter 13, I marvel at how the average person simply doesn't get it. The best example is when someone has the sniffles and they say "oh Im going to be sick. I just know it." And sure enough, without fail, they become sick. Or they stub their toe upon getting out of bed and say "oh today is going to be horrible. Its already off to a bad start."
And all day long you hear them make statements such as these and then they will complain about how their life is just so plum horrible. They say they have bad karma, bad luck, have angered the gods, and they blame everything and everyone about their life. When in reality, it is their stinkin thinkin that is to blame.
However, just as an orange will only yield orange juice when pressed, our thoughts will only yield the equivalent juice. Therefore, if what we think ultimately becomes our reality, how important it is for us to continually be on guard and fast to stop any negative thought so as to not allow it to consume our minds. And ultimately become a part of our lives in the physical realms.
